Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my trucks and trains, but there are few things I love more than throwing a hug on our baby animals – and now my new doll. Yep – mom got us our first dolls and I’m all over it (the doll has a shirt that says “I love mommy” but I changed it to say “daddy” since that’s what I am). Quinn doesn’t want much to do with his baby other than throw him across the room, but I get a big kick out of the positive recognition I get from mom when I feed my baby (even if I choose to feed him his bottle in his nose instead of his mouth).

The idea to get a doll came from the developmental specialist who said it’s a great way to teach empathy and caring for something. She was really impressed with both of our cognitive development and problem solving as well! We are really on a roll – now all we gotta do is start talking! The specialist (who we love and is still coming to see us every month) is not concerned about our lack of verbal skills at this point, but mom and dad are ready to stop hearing “uhhhhhhhhhh!” (with strong point at what we want). The great news though is that we know exactly what they are saying at all times… so they can put us to work (”quinn, can you get a diaper for cooper?” “cooper, can you please hand quinn the red train?”). Mom and dad’s favorite thing to ask us to do is give each other “loves” (hugs). We wrap each other up like a pretzel, tilt our heads all the way to the side on the brother’s shoulder and smile – gotta say, we are pretty darn cute when we do it.

Gotta run, my baby just pooped.

So, I’ve been playing peek-a-boo for months, but i’ve just learned to initiate the “peek-a-boo.” It’s a whole new world. What’s even better than that is when Cooper attempts to play peek-a-boo, he covers his ears instead of his eyes. I love that guy.

Will i really be as big as him one day?

They say ‘big’ is in. Well, I’m IN.

I’m currently obsessed with stacking books in my shopping cart and cruising the hallway – this is how I roll, people! My favorite thing is strutting by Cooper (yes, teasing) and not letting him touch any of the books under my jurisdiction. I’m Quinn the Librarian, and I’m in c-h-a-r-g-e.
