Gosh – where do we begin giving thanks on our first Thanksgiving Day? How about we start with the nurses and doctors in the NICU at California Pacific Medical Center who saved us day after day – for a lot of days. Thanks to Bernie for being such a trooper and welcoming us in his home. Thanks to Yahoo! for giving mom a flexible schedule so she can be with us. Thanks to our extended family near and far (yes, that’s you) for all the thoughtful toys, clothes, dinners/bottle feedings, and hugs. Thanks to Regina for caring for us as if we were her own. Thanks to mom and dad for the great genes (and jeans!), for loving us, and for letting us live in the World’s Coolest City. Thank you to Grammy, Aunt Judy and Uncle Ron for hosting our first Thanksgiving Day feast. Thanks to whoever it is that gave us the strength and resilience (and appetite) to be where we are today.
And thanks to you – for keeping up with us via this blog, believing in us and rooting us along. It is because of you and your positive thoughts that we are healthy and HUGE (did we mention 18 lbs each?!). We are so thankful for you!

I don’t normally post here, but given the extenuating circumstance, Quinn and Cooper agreed it would be appropriate. As many of you may have heard, the World’s Ugliest Dog (WUD), Sam, died last week at 14. Being the Worlds Cutest Dog, I don’t have an idea what it must have felt like to live in his world, but I do know the pressures that such a title can bring. He lived that title every day – and I applaud his strength, courage and hideousness.
RIP, Sam.
Peace out, good buddy.
Bernie (WCD)
P.S. This is a REAL picture of him itching his mouth with his foot. Grody.

So… i woke up early recently (about midnight) to find mom in the living room surrounded with a bunch of paper… yes, folks. she has become a scrapbooker. The very thing she used to tease others about. She blames it on our first year albums, but from the looks of this photo, she’s pretty into it.
What’s next, stamp collecting?

After six months of being away from her work buds, mom went back to Yahoo! on November 1… Thankfully for all of us, Yahoo! agreed to a reduced work week, which has her doing the dreaded 3 hour/day commute Monday through Wednesday and working from home on Thursdays (no work Friday!). And despite her mini-meltdown on her first day back to work, we think she likes it a teeny weeny bit. “I feel like I’ve got the best of both worlds,” said mom. “I get the benefit of being challenged at work, while being under the same roof with my favorite people four days per week!”
She spent her first night away from us last week when she went to NYC for work. Dad handled us like a champ, despite the lack of sleep due to our teeth coming in (ouch!).
So, life is just grand for us. We are one big happy family – a dual income family, that is! Dad keeps saying he’s going to put us to work soon, but we’re still enjoying our vacation.
Yahooo!
